Hi I’m Vivienne. I joined NECS in 2014 as a trainee and after a length of time as a volunteer and an associate member I am now a contracted member of the counselling team.
As a Person Centred Counsellor I work with children, young people and adults. I work alongside my counselling clients to help them bring about positive change and to feel better about their own individual situation and experiences, allowing individuals to explore and process their feelings in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
I work across a wide range of issues such as childhood neglect, childhood abuse, relationship issues, bereavement, anxiety and depression. I have an interest in supporting those going through bereavement and loss (including that of a relationship) and have had further training with Cruse Bereavement Care.
I also have a special interest in carers, including both parents and siblings, and the impact this role has on themselves and their relationships. In a past career in education, I worked with children and families with extra needs and still wish to support them through counselling.
In my free time I enjoy investing in my own selfcare by walking and listening to music.
